Many classic WWE and TNA matches have been one on one encounters. But how many times have we overlooked the Triple Threats? Just to name a few famous ones:
Triple H vs The Rock vs Big Show- Originally scheduled to be wrestled by Stone Cold Steve Austin, a last minute replacement changed the whole Survivor Series pay per view and surprised audiences. Stone Cold was hit by a car prior to the pay per view starting and Big Show was scheduled to take his place. He had already had a match earlier in the night and even with that he managed to come up with the victory and the world title. Many people were initially disappointed because Triple H, The Rock, and Stone Cold would have been a classic match, but Big Show filled in nicely with the surprise victory.
Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Big Show: The Big Show was not as fortunate in this Triple Threat match as he took on opponents Kurt Angle and defending champion Brock Lesnar. Big Show received a huge running power bomb from Lesnar and an Angle slam through the announcer’s table from Angle. This was a great back and forth match where Angle got the upper hand in the end and defeated Brock Lesnar and won the WWE Title.
Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Beniot: In the first Wrestlemania Triple Threat main event, the defending champion Triple H battled it out with rival at the time Michaels and Royal rumble winner Chris Beniot. Triple H was bloodied, Michaels put everything he had into the match, but in the end it was Beniot who got the victory by making Triple H tap out to the Crippler Crossface. This gave Beniot his first World Title victory and a great ending to Wrestlemania XX.
AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs Samoa Joe - At Unbreakable 2005, many believe this match to be “The Greatest Match in TNA History” as it was filled with High Flying, Brawling, Showmanship, and plenty of Total Nonstop Action. One of the most memorable spots, was where Chris Daniels monkeyflipped AJ off of the turnbuckle, onto Joe, and then as AJ lands on Joe’s shoulders, hurracanranas Joe onto the mat.
